This is okay! That smell is simply dust that has found a resting place on top of the heating coils and elements.
The smell usually goes away very quickly. If your heating unit does not come on, you can easily schedule an appointment for one of our licensed and trained ac technicians.
Don’t forget to clean or replace your ac filters.
